Kate Harwood Leaves EastEnders

The BBC's joint head of independent commissioning, John Yorke, has been appointed inhouse drama controller in a radical restructuring at the top of the department.
He will head a newly created senior management team, which also includes the executives Kate Harwood, Nicolas Brown, Sally Woodward Gentle and Diederick Santer.
Mr Yorke's appointment also breaks up his partnership with Lucy Richer, the executive he took with him from Channel 4 when he quit as head of drama to rejoin the corporation more than 18 months ago.
Ms Richer remains in her role as joint head of independent drama, with the BBC looking to find a replacement for Mr Yorke.
The independent commissioning department is responsible for the dramas Life on Mars, Bodies, The Street, Hustle, Robin Hood, Jekyll, Waterloo Road and New Tricks.
In his new role, Mr Yorke will be in charge of continuing drama series and single dramas.
He will report to the BBC head of drama, Jane Tranter, and will be joined by Kate Harwood, currently executive producer of EastEnders, as head of series and serials.
Ms Harwood's job is to be taken over by the Much Ado about Nothing producer, Diederick Santer, who also takes responsibility for developing drama series and serials for younger viewers.
His appointment reflects the BBC's commitment to maintaining "high-end" executives for the BBC1 soap opera.
I Regret to say that this may mean some Axing of Characters. Kate Harwood take on the position of Executive Producer two years ago and was the saviour of EastEnders, she stepped in at a time when EastEnders was just stuggling to pull in 2 Million Viewers.
Now two years on and EastEnders has managed to grab the Best Soap Title. Well Done Kate!
